“Seeds for a better world” storytelling

Literary mediator Mercè Palay will tell and sing stories such as Wangari and the Trees of Peace or A Pinch of Seeds, starring women and girls who defend the land and seek peaceful and sustainable solutions to poverty and discrimination situations they experienced in their countries. We will discover the life of Wangari Maathai, who launched a reforestation movement in Kenya and won the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize, and we will also learn about Concepción, a woman who teaches the children of her neighbourhood in La Paz to cultivate a vegetable garden so they can eat without stealing. An inspiring and empowering proposal that highlights the role of women and girls as peacebuilders.

Target audience: children from 6 years old onwards.

Duration: 60 minutes.
