Maison des solidarités locales et internationales
With La Cimade

Event presented by the La Cimade association.

This year, Compagnie Waninga has decided to focus on one of the most painful and, consequently, most difficult aspects of the migratory process to address: the journey. The Bozayeur is the individual who embarks on an adventure on roads made increasingly dangerous by ever more restrictive migration policies. We will seek to grasp the complexity of this figure, torn between hero and victim, the young person who grew up too fast and the child no longer allowed innocence, the idealist who believes the North automatically signifies wealth, or conversely, the clear-sighted individual who knows that while arrival is not easy, there is more hope there than here.

The performance draws inspiration from the accounts of the participants and seeks to contextualize this intimate and personal experience within a system, political decisions, and a perception of migration in the North that make this journey increasingly perilous. Without pathos, sometimes with humor and sometimes with anger, the company aims to tell the story of the Bozayeurs who comprise it.

Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes (including a post-performance discussion of approximately thirty minutes).
Free admission, no reservation required.
