by Barcelona Provincial Council & Esplugues de Llobregat
The photographic exhibition “A pie de Valla. Frontera Sur”, by the photojournalist J. Antonio Sempere, is a selection of 50 photos taken during 2016 showing images of those that attempt to jump the Southern border fence in Spain seeking opportunities and a better life.
The exhibition shows the hardness and reality of the persons that arrive at the camp, attempt “the jump” and, at some cases, reach Cetua. There is a person, a story, a family, and a human life behind each picture, . The Spanish Southern border is the third gateway to Europe for refugees and migrants in the Mediterranean. Its situation is untenable and it is necessary to continue talking and explaining what is happening.
The inauguration (online) will take place on November 16th.
Institut del Teatre, Barcelona. The exhibition is also available online at: http://www.ugt.cat/exposicions/apiedevalla/
Co-organised by Barcelona Provincial Council, Esplugues de Llobregat, Fundació Josep Comaposada and Sindicalistes Solidaris.
The inauguration event will count with Ms. Pilar Díaz, Deputy for International Relations at Barcelona Provincial Council and Mayor of Esplugues de Llobregat.
